The Pearl Laguna — Est. 2005

Privacy Policy

At The Pearl Laguna we are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.

Last updated: September 18, 2026

1. Scope of This Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how The Pearl Laguna ("The Pearl Laguna", "we", "us", "our"), located at 21095 Raquel Rd, Laguna Beach, California 92651, collects, uses and safeguards your information when you visit www.thepearllaguna.com, submit an enquiry or booking request, interact with our digital advertisements, or stay with us as a guest.

By using our website or booking a retreat, you agree to the practices described here. This policy forms part of our Terms and Conditions.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information that you provide voluntarily when you express interest in our retreat or services, and a limited amount of technical information collected automatically when you browse our site.

Information you provide

  • Personal identifiers: name, email address and phone number, collected through our enquiry and "Thank You" page forms and through Google Ads lead forms.
  • Booking data: information provided through our BookingLayer reservation system for the purpose of reserving and managing a retreat, including stay dates, program length, room selection and billing details.
  • Pre-arrival information: arrival and departure plans, airport transfer details, dietary requirements and any health information you choose to share with us so that we can prepare for your stay (see Section 3).
  • Correspondence: the content of emails, messages and calls with our booking and guest care team.

Information collected automatically

  • Technical data: IP address, browser type, device information, referring page, and pages viewed, collected through cookies and similar technologies to keep the site working and to measure performance.

Payment card details are processed by our booking and payment providers. We do not store full card numbers on our own systems.

3. Health and Dietary Information

Because we are a wellness retreat, guests sometimes share health-related details — allergies, dietary restrictions, injuries, mobility limitations or other considerations relevant to participation. Under California law this is treated as sensitive personal information, and we handle it accordingly.

We ask for this information only where it is needed to accommodate you safely, and we use it for that purpose alone. It is shared internally on a need-to-know basis with the culinary, wellness and guest care team members responsible for your stay.

We do not use health or dietary information for marketing, profiling or advertising, and we do not sell or share it. You are never required to disclose a diagnosis; sharing what we need in order to accommodate you is sufficient.

The Pearl Laguna is not a healthcare provider and is not a covered entity under HIPAA. Information you share with us is protected under this policy and applicable California law rather than under HIPAA.

4. How We Use Your Information

  • To respond to enquiries. We aim to reach out within 48 hours of a form submission.
  • To process and manage bookings. Confirming your reservation, preparing your stay, and issuing accurate invoicing, including the mandatory 14% transient occupancy tax.
  • To prepare for your arrival. Arranging airport transfers, accommodations, meals and scheduled sessions.
  • To communicate with you about your stay. Pre-arrival details, packing guidance, schedule information and follow-up after departure.
  • Marketing communications. With your consent, we may send updates about our wellness programs and retreat dates.
  • Advertising and analytics. To measure the effectiveness of our Google Ads campaigns and understand how visitors use our website.
  • Legal and operational purposes. Maintaining records, resolving disputes, and complying with tax, accounting and other legal obligations.

5. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies for three purposes: keeping the site functioning, understanding site usage through analytics, and measuring the performance of our advertising.

Strictly necessary cookies are required for the site to operate. Analytics and advertising cookies are optional, and you can manage them through your browser settings or, where available on our site, through the cookie preference controls.

Depending on how advertising cookies are configured, the use of these technologies may be considered "sharing" of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising under California law. You may opt out as described in Section 10.

6. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information for money. We share data only with trusted service providers who process it on our behalf and are bound to use it solely for the services they provide to us:

  • BookingLayer — secure reservation and booking management.
  • HubSpot — customer relationship management, enquiry follow-up and task tracking.
  • Google — website analytics and advertising performance measurement.
  • Payment processors — processing deposits, balances and on-site charges.
  • Transportation partners — arranging a scheduled airport transfer, where one is offered and confirmed for your booking.

We may also disclose information where required by law, in response to a valid legal request, to enforce our Terms and Conditions, to protect the rights and safety of guests, staff or the property, or in connection with a business transfer such as a merger or sale of assets.

7. Marketing Communications

If you have subscribed to our newsletter or consented to marketing, we may send you wellness inspiration, retreat dates and updates from The Pearl Laguna.

You may unsubscribe at any time using the link in any marketing email, or by writing to info@thepearllaguna.com. Opting out of marketing does not affect transactional messages about a booking you have made.

8. Data Retention

We keep personal information only for as long as it is needed for the purposes described in this policy.

Booking and financial records are retained for the period required by California tax and accounting rules. Enquiry and marketing records are kept while your interest remains current or until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. Health and dietary information is retained only as long as needed to support your stay and any repeat booking, and is deleted on request.

9. Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information against loss, misuse and unauthorized access, and we limit internal access to staff who need it to do their work.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please avoid sending sensitive details to us through unsecured channels.

10. Your California Privacy Rights

As a business located in Laguna Beach, California, we comply with California privacy law. Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Know and access the categories and specific pieces of personal information we hold about you, and how we use and disclose it.
  • Correct inaccurate personal information.
  • Delete personal information we hold about you, subject to legal retention obligations.
  • Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
  • Limit the use of sensitive personal information to what is necessary to provide our services.
  • Non-discrimination — we will not deny service, charge different prices or provide a different quality of service because you exercised a privacy right.
